Our Chauffeur will pick us from the Delhi Airport /Railway station and we’ll set forth for an 8-hour road trip to Naukuchiatal, known as the Lake of Nine Corners. As we reach our destination, we will check in to our room and freshen up. This afternoon will be kept for a leisurely visit to the nearby lake for enjoying the glimpses of sunset. As darkness sets in we will not bother ourselves much and will join for dinner followed by night stay at Naukuchiatal.
Kumaon is mapped as the Lake District of India. So today, after a sumptuous breakfast at the resort in Naukuchiatal, we’ll set out for Bhimtal, housing the largest lake in Kumaon at an elevation of 1370 mt. The next will be Sattal, formed by an interconnected group of 7 freshwater lakes. It is tucked at an elevation of 1370 mt and surrounded by lush orchards in the Mehragaon Valley. Local food in the vicinity can serve as a lunch option before our proceeding towards Nainital Lake, nestled amidst seven hills in a lush valley at an altitude of 1938 mt to experience another evening with sunset. We will return to our hotel where dinner will play the role of stress buster followed by night stay at Naukuchiatal.
We will be visiting Mukteshwar today; a sacred shrine housing a 350-year-old temple of Shiva, at an elevation of 2,312 mt. After checking into our hotel in the afternoon, we will set out to visit the ancient temple and the adjoining Chauli Ki Jali before returning to our resort. The day ends with a delicious dinner followed by night stay at Mukteshwar.
Since the beginning, we are letting no chance to leave the road trip at the Kumaon range. So today, after breakfast we will head towards Binsar which is near about 100 KM away. We’ll be passing via Almora where shall halt for lunch and will finally reach the resort. The afternoon will be kept for some leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Binsar.
Perched at an elevation of 2420 mt in the Kumaon District, Binsar provides an experience of one of the most beautiful sunrises. After breakfast, it’ll be time to visit the Binsar wildlife sanctuary, set atop the Jhandi Dhar hills. Rich with more than 200 species of birds other than occasional sightings of some Himalayan bear, fox, and leopard, this place is a treat for ornithologists. Late in the evening, we will return to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Binsar.
Today after breakfast we will be on for a trip to the cantonment hill station of Ranikhet, also known as the Queen’s Meadow. Nestled at a height of 1869 mt, this is 350-year-old a temple town. As we will reach resort lately and shall be having lunch by afternoon, provisions will be made visit the Haidakhan Temple, the Jhula Devi temple and the Mankameshwar temple among others. We can also try our hands in Golf at the 2nd largest 9-hole golf course in India, here in Ranikhet. As darkness sets in, we will return to our resort for dinner, followed by a good night’s sleep at Ranikhet.
We shall wake up early today to witness the last sunrise in the valley. After a sumptuous breakfast, we’ll proceed to Delhi airport/railway station for our return journey.
