Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Guwahati and Kamakhya Visit

On arrival at the Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, our chauffeur will drive us to the pre-booked hotel in the city. After freshening up we’ll be on our way to visit the famous Kamakhya Temple. Completing the rituals at the temple, we will be returning to Guwahati and en-route will have our lunch. A day’s tiresome journey can be comforted with a short nap at the hotel and then again, go by the evening agenda of spending time at the local market. We shall have dinner at the local popular eatery and proceed back to the hotel for the night stay at Guwahati.

Day 2 - On our way to Shillong

Well, after an early breakfast we will waste no time and start our journey towards Umiam Lake located near to Shillong. We can opt for boating at the lake and shall move onto the Don Bosco Monument, which is essentially a seven storey museum focussing on local indigenous people and culture, with tools, clothing, and artifacts on display. We’ll be reaching Shillong by noon, and have lunch at our pre-booked hotel. A short siesta will be needed to freshen up the body before exploring the town in the evening to soak in the vibe of the local culture. Soon it’ll be time to return back to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Shillong.

Day 3 - Cherrapunji Stay

With the completion of breakfast, we will commence our road trip to Cherrapunji, the wettest place in Asia. On our way we will visit the Shillong peak at 6,449 ft, to witness a panoramic view of the city and its lush green surroundings. Next on cards is Ward’s lake, also commonly known as the Pollock Lake, an artificial water body encircled by an extensively garden. By noon, we’ll check into the resort at Cherrapunji and have lunch. The afternoon can be spent in visiting the mighty waterfalls of the region like the Seven Sister Falls, the Nohkalikai falls and the Elephanta Falls. By evening, we’ll be returning back to the hotel to spend some time in leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 4 - Exploring Dawki

After breakfast, we will proceed towards Dawki, a town in the west Jaintia hill district, famous for its adjoining waterfalls. However, a boat ride on the crystal clear water of the Dawki River from the Dawki Boating point should not be missed and hence, will do the obvious. We will have lunch en-route and shall visit Bophill and Borhill falls. As darkness will resume, we will come back to the resort and spend the rest of the time at leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 5 - Shillong Scenes

Today, we will be getting back to Shillong as early as possible to explore a half day trip in Shillong after checking into the pre-booked hotel and lunch. In the evening, we shall engage in some shopping excursions followed by dinner and return to the resort for the night stay at Shillong.

Day 6 - Back to Guwahati

Our chauffeur will be driving us back to the Guwahati Airport / Railway station for our homebound journey.
