Chasing the Snake: Boat Race Festival

Day 1 - Welcome at Cochin

On the arrival at Cochin airport/railway station, the chauffeur will receive and drive to an authentic stay at Cochin.

After lunch, the guests shall set out to experience the ancient performing arts – Kathakali and Marital Art shows (on spot payment basis) followed by dinner at a local restaurant nearby and return to your sojourn.

Day 2 - Exploring Cochin

After an early breakfast, the day will start with an excursion to Fort Kochi and Mattanchery. The major tourist attractions include St. Francis Church, Vasco House, Santa Cruz Basilica Chinese fishing nets, beach walkway in Fort Kochi, Jewish Synagogue, Palace and Jew town of Mattanchery.

Lunch will be arranged at the stay with some balmy rest till afternoon. The evening may be spent in Marine drive followed by dinner on local cuisines and then return to the stay.

Day 3 - Cochin to Alleppey

The next destination Alleppey is chosen to experience the Nehru Boat festival at the backwaters of Kerala. After checking into the houseboat in Alleppey; lunch will be served. The Nehru Cup snake boat race will be experienced in the afternoon at Punnamada Lake. After an exciting final round, the evening will be at rest followed by dinner and night stay.

Day 4 - Kuttanad Village Experience

The morning will be embraced with an amazing sunrise at the houseboat and then a sumptuous refreshing breakfast. Enjoy few more hours of backwater cruising and head towards Kuttanad, an intricate structure of interconnecting passages of subdued flickering light waterways composed of lakes, canals, rivers and streamlet sandwiched between the sea and hills. The local village trail will include some experiences like rice farming demo, local backwater fishing, and a country boat ride through narrow canals, village visits, etc. The evening will be spent on leisure followed by dinner.

Overnight stay at Kuttanad.

Day 5 - Kuttanad to Cochin

After a late morning wake up and leisurely breakfast, the chauffeur will drop at Cochin airport and bid you a warm farewell for your safe and pleasant journey back home.
