Itinerary

Day 1

The journey into “God’s Own Country” will start once we arrive in Kochi. Our chauffeur will greet to drive us to Munnar. The gradual ascend over a distance of 130 KM will pass through the picturesque valley of tea gardens, guarded by the cluster of hills. After reaching Munnar, we will get prepared to visit the nearby art hub called Punarjani village famous for its Kathakali and Kalaripayattu shows. After a day-long journey from Kochi to Munnar, let’s not make the day exhausting hence it will be ideal to return hotel for dinner and night stay at Munnar.

Day 2

Today will be a busy day as we will be going for the local sightseeing. Breakfast will be served as early as we may avail it before starting our journey to places like Mattupetty Dam, Eravikulam National park, the tea gardens of Vattavada among several others. The late afternoon shall be reserved for a visit to a local tea plantation factory to get acquainted with the tea growing and production process followed by tasting flavors. As the dusk sets in, it is time to return to the resort for a leisurely spent evening over dinner. The warm bed will be too hard to resist and that will end with another pleasant night stay at Munnar.

Day 3

An enchanting sunrise over the outstretched horizon of lush green tea gardens, pillared by the cluster of hills shall start the day and guide us to the breakfast table. As we descend from the mountains on our way to Thekkady, the change of terrain from sloppy to plain grasslands and vegetative fields will surely attention. On reaching there by noon, with no time wasted on checking formalities, we will sit for lunch and save some time for a short rest. Late in the afternoon, we will be visiting the Periyar National Park for the safari. When the daylight will start to disappear we will move to our hotel and enjoy our favorite time while having dinner and then, a peaceful sleep to spend the night in Thekkady.

Day 4

The day starts with an early morning jungle trail at the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Before setting out for a day-long tour in and around Thekkady, we will fill our tummy with some healthy breakfast. Activity throughout the day shall include a visit to the Green Park Ayurvedic Spice Plantation or a serene boating experience at the Periyar Lake. The Mullaperiyar dam is also a place of interest in these parts. The relatively busy day will be complimented with a lovely dinner and a lovely night stay at Thekkady.

Day 5

Today after breakfast, we will be on for Kovalam, the beach delight of Kerala. En route the 222 km journey, we will have a roadside lunch at any local restaurant and will check into Kovalam by afternoon. After taking some rest to shed release the tiredness, we will visit the beach to experience sunset. Relaxing at the beach shacks followed by dinner on local cuisine shall be fantastic. We will most certainly try some local fish preparation from these shacks for dinner. As the night deepens, we will get back to our nearby resort for the night stay at Kovalam.

Day 6

The majestic sunrise at the Kovalam Beach shall give the best start to the morning. After breakfast, we will visit the fisherman’s village of Vizhinjam. The village will give an insight favorite the way of living of these native fishermen. Later, we shall visit the Varkala beach in Ponnumthuruthu for a serene boat ride. To enjoy the sunset, Edakallu is a perfect place to witness. The cool sea breeze in the evening and a plateful of dinner by the beach will constantly raise our affection for Kovalam. After the end of an eventful day, we will return to the resort for the night stay at Kovalam.

Day 7

Once we will be done with the breakfast scene, the next destination will be Aleppey, one of the rarest ecosystems of the world about 160 KM from Kovalam. To soak into an enchanting experience of gliding through the backwaters of Alleppey, we will check into our pre-booked houseboat. The next several hours will be spent on exploring the emerald green amalgamation of the lakes and lagoons, cutting its path through the very heart of Rural Kerala, rich with natural vegetation and adorned with vast stretches of some time cultivable fields. Our onboard chef would have prepared an exquisite local delicacy for dinner, after which we will retire in the cabin for the night stay at Alleppey houseboat.

Day 8

As we wake up to a new day on our houseboat, the mist will be suspended on the serene water on which we will be gliding back to the jetty. The cook will serve the last breakfast and then we will proceed to Kochi some time our chauffeur’s assistance. As we move around the older parts of Kochi, especially in Fort Kochi, we will be experiencing a journey back in time. The marvelous amalgamation of colonial and native philosophy and designs is sure to seek out admiration from you. Local food in the city can be a perfect lunch for today where we will be spending most of our time roaming around in the streets. As evening sets in, we will return to our hotel in Kochi for a much-needed dinner followed by night stay at Kochi.

Day 9

The last day of the tour starts as we finish our lovely breakfast. In accordance with our flight timing, we will be dropped at the Kochi airport on time. However, if we have a late flight, we can spend some more time in a half day sightseeing at Kochi. In that case, a timely pickup will be arranged to drop at the airport in time for our homeward journey.
