Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Ulaanbaatar & City Tour

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, meet at the airport after custom formalities and transfer to the hotel. Then start a city tour of Ulaanbaatar that takes you through some of the principal sights of this unique city. We will visit the Gandan Monastery, housing a 26 meter high gilded statue of the Buddha. Our tour also takes you to the Genghis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square and the National Museum, which has a number of fascinating displays of traditional Mongolian clothing and weaponry, as well as exhibits charting the course of Genghis Khan's empire-building. Welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant. Then visit the Zaisan Memorial located on a pretty hill south of the city for a panoramic view of the nomadic capital and the Buddha Park followed by dinner. Transfer back to the hotel by 8pm. Overnight stay at hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2 - Ulaanbaatar - Bayan Gobi Sand Dune via Hustai National Park

This morning we head to the east of Ulaanbaatar and drive to the Elsen Tasarkhai – a picturesque combination of rocky mountains, green grasslands, pretty lakes and sand dunes. On the way, we will make a stop at Hustai national park with a visit to info centre and watch the documentary about the Takhi wild horses and the park. View the beautiful wild horses and other wildlife in the wilderness, enjoy hiking. Continue our road to Bayan Gobi or Elsen Tasarkhai. Transfer to camp near the Sand Dunes. Optional hiking in Khogno Khaan with a visit to Erdene Khamba Buddhist monastery ruins. Visit to nomadic family, taste fermented mare’s milk and enjoy 1 hr camel riding while you are at the sand dunes. Overnight stay at Ger camp.

Day 3 - Bayan Gobi or Elsen Tasarkhai to Karakorum (Ancient Capital)

Today we will drive to ancient capital Karakorum. We’ll visit to legendary monastery Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Central Mongolia founded in 1586, Museum of Karakorum and its surroundings the Turtle Rock and the Phallic stone etc. In the afternoon we will visit the newly established Museum of Karakorum which gives a good introduction to Central Mongolia, its’ history and the UNESCO world heritage site Orkhon river valley. Overnight at Ger camp.

Day 4 - Karakorum to Khorgo Terkh Extinct Volcano & White Lake National Park

Heading northwest today on a 350 kilometer leg over picturesque roads. We’ll stop at Tsetserleg town, a lovely centre of Arkhangai province and you pass along the edge of the Hhuluut river canyon, its waters flashing far below. There are places along the way where the air is rich with the scent of wild sage, and the horizon stands defined against a sea of green hills, large horse herds, and the occasional brilliant white Ger tent. Your next stopping point is Khorgo Terkh national park - volcanic surrounds of lake Terkhiin Tsagaan - the 'great white lake'. The lake lies calmly in the arms of tall hills, its water extremely clear and lined with long sand beaches arrive in the evening and transfer to ger camp, dinner and rest. Overnight stay at Ger Camp.

Day 5 - Khorgo Terkh National Park - Ider River - Camping Site via Tosontsengel Village & Solongot Pass

In the morning, we’ll visit to Khorgo extinct volcano which might be quite a challenging hike up for some but brave it and you will enjoy it fully. Enjoy panoramic view from the crater for volcano lava and the lake. Later we will be heading towards Western Mongolia. We will drive to Ider river camping area with a short stop at Solongot pass and Tosontsengel to learn about authentic village lifestyle of Mongolian tribes. Subsequently, we head further West through the green grasslands and mountains with a visit to a nomadic family, where we will see how the nomads make dairies including Airag – the famous Mongolian fermented horse milk drink. Tonight, we will be camping under starry night and make small bon fire. Enjoy the unique experience, which you wont find anywhere else on this planet. Overnight stay at Ger camp.

Day 6 - Ider River - Khar Nuur Lake and Bor Khar Els Sand Dunes

Continuing our way to Khar Nuur Lake and Bor Khar Els sand dunes – one of the prettiest spot in Mongolia. You will enjoy the incredible setting of lake over in the middle of sand dune. We will stay in a basic Ger camp and spend some leisure time around the sand dune and visit herder families to further experience the authentic spirit and true essence of Mongolia. Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 7 - Khar Nuur Lake - Hungii River via Zavkhanmandal Town

After breakfast, we will continue our way to Hungii River. On the way, we will stop at nomadic family to meet locals and learn their way of life and animals. Also, we will stop at Zavkhan mandal and Urgamal town. Arrive at camping area near Hungii river and yet another overnight stay under the starry sky. Overnight stay at Ger camp.

Day 8 - Hungii River near Urgamal Town - Khyargas Lake

After breakfast, we will continue driving towards Hyargas Lake in Uvs Province. After long drive we will reach our destination and transfer to the accommodation. Overnight stay at Ger camp. ***Lake Hyargas, one of the largest lakes of Mongolia, lies about 100 kilometers south of Lake Uvs in the territory of the Depression of Great Lakes. The Zavkhan river feeds Airag lake, which is further connected to Hyargas lake that has not outlet. The salt water lake, stretching from west to east, is 75 kilometers long and 31 kilometers wide. Several special of fish including the rare Mongolian grayling lives in Hyargas lake

Day 9 - Khyargas Lake - Turgen Kharkhiraa Mountains

Today we will head to Turgen Kharkhiraa mountains range (2200 -2400m), one of the highest snow-capped peaks in Mongolia where we can see perpetual snow in distance. Enjoy short trekking near the campsites and enjoy the serenity of the Steppes. Overnight stay in Ger camp. *** Dominating the skyline for much of the trek are the Kharkhiraa mountain range (4,037m/13,225ft) and Turgen mountain (3,965m/13,009ft) peaks. This is an area of alpine lakes, swift mountain streams and vast glaciers. From mountain ridges and passes, the place exhibits spectacular panoramas of glaciers, desert landscapes, large lake basins and expansive grasslands. Apart from seeing the vast tracts of unspoilt nature and undisturbed wild life, it is also an opportunity to meditate and refill your soul with the energy of mother Earth. Its one of the mystique lands of Mongolia where you may eavesdrop to many stories and folklores of occultism and Steppes magic. You will meet Durvud ethnic people who inhabit the area living off large herds of domesticated yaks, sheep, goats and horses. They lead a life style that has seemingly not changed for a few hundred years.

Day 10 - Turgen Kharkhiraa Mountain Valley - Ulgii - Kazakh Hunters Town

Today, we will drive to Ulgii town, the center of Bayan Ulgii province. Upon our arrival, transfer to the local hotel. In the late afternoon, enjoy walking tour in the town and visit to Muslim mosque and local market. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 11 - Ulgii Town - Hiking in the Tavan Bogd National Park

We will explore the eastern edge of the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park where Mongolia's highest point lays at 4374m above sea level, the Khuiten Peak. Enjoy half day hiking while admiring the beauty of area and wildlife. You will enjoy short camel or horse trekking in the national park. It will be a unique experience to tent out in the wilderness along with the camping equipment. Overnight stay in a camp tent / Ger.

Day 12 - Trekking in Altai National Park - Ulgii Town with visit to Kazak Family

Today we’ll meet our driver who will take us back to Ulgii. On the way, we will also visit Kazakh nomadic families along the way and witness their renowned Eagle Hunting practice & experience their warm hospitality. Arrive in Ulgii town and transfer to the local hotel. Rest and Shower before enjoying dinner. Overnight in a hotel in Ulgii.

Day 13 - Ulgii Town - Ulaanbaatar City - Visit to to Genghis Equestrian Statue Complex

In the morning we will take a flight to Ulaanbaatar. Upon our arrival in Ulaanbaatar, we will visit the Great Chinggis equestrian statue complex. This is the tallest equestrian statue in the world and one of the must see things in Mongolia. We will have some free time for souvenir and cashmere shopping (optional). In the evening, enjoy traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble and perfect way to end the tour in the tunes of Mongolian spirit. Farewell dinner as a token of love a warmth from us. Overnight stay at hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 14 - Departure

Hope the unique trip of Mongolia have contended your heart but might have left you wanting for more. But we have to check out today in the morning and our chauffeur will drop you at your departure port. Saw bolıñız...
