Close your eyes and think of a fairyland with the most picturesque landscape that your imagination can conjure up. As you land up in Kashmir, you’ll be amazed to discover your imagined fairyland simulated in front of your eyes, at its minute details. Those imposing guardian figures of the Himalayas carefully hiding those oasis lands with abundance in colour and life, basking with full glory under a sky so clear, you could not have imagined. As you hike your way up through the treacherous terrain, tired and bruised, to appear in front of the vast expanse of a lake so clear that it serves as a mirror; you’ll be looking at your own reflection with the ancient land being held, witness.
Kashmir welcomes you to embark on a journey through a land of the prized. You enjoy the vast stretches of saffron fields only if you’ve crossed the highland passes. You can bask in the warmth of the valleys only if you can tackle the numbing cold during the night. And as you emerge through, you can truly appreciate the beauty and glory of “The Paradise on Earth”.
Our chauffeur will greet as we land in Srinagar and will drive us to our hotel where we will be checking in and freshen up for lunch and some balmy rest till the afternoon reminds us to visit Mughal Gardens of Nishat and Shalimar Bagh and the most awaited of Shikara ride at the Dal Lake during sunset followed by some sumptuous dinner on local cuisine and ending the day with night stay at Srinagar.
As we finish our breakfast, we’ll be on our way to Pahalgam, a valley picturesquely breathtaking, where the mountain trails run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple. On the way to the valley, we’ll pass through the town of Awantipur in Pulwama district, which houses a number of ancient Hindu temples built by the king including the Avantiswami Temple, about 1100 years old. By lunchtime, we’ll check into Pahalgam and try some local delicacy on meals and visit the nearby Betaab Valley. The locales like Betaab Valley continue to invigorate a lot of tourists and we won’t be an exception here. Just 15 KM from Pahalgam, Betaab valley’s picturesque landscape and beautiful sunset as your canvas, will end today’s show with the advancement of darkness and our return to the hotel for dinner, leisure and night stay at Pahalgam.
With an early breakfast, we will be moving towards the beautiful Seshnag Lake which is 23 KM from Pahalgam and later embrace the greeneries of Baisaran Valley 11 KM from Pahalgam. En-route we will be having lunch and shall visit another lake called Tulian and other nearby spots. We will return to the hotel by afternoon for leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Pahalgam.
After a quick breakfast, we’ll be on our way to Achabal, a town in the Anantnag district, notable for an ancient spring surrounded by a garden, terraced and developed by the Mughals and check into the set camps at Daksum at an altitude of 2,438 mt. The rest of the day can be spent in village excursions to Dessu Village and walking along Mathar Nallah, a mountain stream just below Dessu post lunch. In the evening, we’ll return to the camp for a lovely dinner followed by a night stay at Daksum.
We’ll be returning back to Pahalgam today. But before that, the day trip will take some other route after an early breakfast. We’ll set out for the journey through the sites of Kokernag and Verinag. The former is a town known for its gardens, freshwater springs, and rainbow trout farms. Historical texts suggest that the water of Kokernag satisfies both hunger and thirst and is used locally as a remedy for indigestion. Next, we’ll be visiting Verinag, the gateway to Kashmir. The village is known for the Verinag spring. Enroute, lunch can be done before commencing towards Pahalgam. The tiresome day filled with lovely sights shall be put to an end after checking into the hotel, followed by lovely dinner and night stay at Pahalgam.
Our day trip starts for Srinagar. Enroute we’ll be visiting the Cricket bat making factory that uses the legendary Kashmiri willow. Passing through the Avantipur ruins and through the Pampore Saffron fields, we’ll be reaching Srinagar in the afternoon. After checking into our hotel, you can have our late lunch and have some rest. The evenings can be spent in the local markets which provide excellent dining options. After a happy meal, it’ll be time to return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Srinagar.
Today’s destination is Gulmarg, one of the most beautiful summer resorts in the valley. Completing an early breakfast, we’ll set out for the valley, encircled by the Pir Panjal Range in the Western Himalayas. Gulmarg is also known as the Meadow of Flowers because the valley boasts of a colour palette rich with the blooms of the local flora. Once we reach Gulmarg, we will have our lunch and later get ready for the afternoon Gondola Ride from, Gulmarg to Khilanmarg. Suspended in mid-air, we can truly enjoy the richness of the valley with a bird's eye view. By the end of the day, we will return to Srinagar for dinner and night stay.
Today it will be a full day excursion to Sonmarg. One can enjoy the pony rides there to the magnificent Thajiwas Glacier. The valley can be an excellent place to try some local cuisines as lunch before leaving for Srinagar. If time permits, we’ll be visiting the Manasbal Lake, the name is said to be a derivative of the Lake Manasarovar. In the evening, we will come back to the hotel and settle ourselves for dinner and night stay at Srinagar.
We will set out for a mystical place of Yusmarg, located on the banks of the Doodh Ganga River, a tributary of the Jhelum. It is believed by the natives that Jesus came and lived for some time in Yusmarg, tucked at an altitude of 2,396 mt. After enjoying a local lunch, we can stroll along the alpine valley covered with snow-clad mountains and meadows of pine and fir. In the evening, we’ll be returning to the hotel in Srinagar for dinner and night stay.
Our chauffeur will be driving you to the airport as per the flight schedule for our homebound journey.
