Itinerary

Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar capital


Our team will welcome you as you arrive in Ulaanbaatar city. The chauffeur will transfer you to the your hotel. Enjoy the sight of the historic city of Ulaanbaatar as you drive through the city. Spend rest of the day in leisure and absorb the serenity of the Steppe. Overnight stay in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2 - Gobi Desert - Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs 


After having an early breakfast, you will be flying to Gobi Desert Area. The local chauffeur will greet you and you will be driven to Bayanzag Flaming cliffs, where dinosaur fossils were found in 1922, later whose dimension was used in Jurassic Park movie. Then we will be moving to our accommodation in the camp and after having an authentic Mongolian Lunch and brief rest we will be exploring the Saxaul forest. This would be your first experience of the vastness of the Gobi steppe. We wil be ending the day with an adventurous hiking and trekking in Bayanzag Flaming Cliff. Overnight stay in Ger tourist camp.

Day 3 - Khongor Sand Dunes


After breakfast, we will be going to a 3 hours long drive in gobi steppe to Khongor picturesque sand dunes. The vast dunes with width of 150 km and 300 m height is an unparalleled desert beauty. From the sandy dunes will be going directly to the Ger camp to freshen up and have lunch. Spend some relaxed time before going for the hiking to sand dunes and have a unique experience of skiing down from dunes. Explore the fascinating view of sand hills and rocky mountain ranges. Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 4 - Khongor Sand Dunes


Start a refreshing morning by trekking to cool spring near the sand hills. These are Mongolia's largest sand dunes, reaching a height of 300 meters in some areas. On the way see Dungene valley - a wonderfully picturesque place and surrounded by sheer rocky walls, forming incredible canyons. Visit local camel breeder family to discover the Gobi lifestyle and try diary products from camel milk. Take an 1 hour camelback trekking along sand dunes. Retire to the camp or lunch and spend rest of the afternoon at your own leisure. Overnight stay in Ger Camp.

Day 5 - Yollin Am Gorge


From the vast sand dunes to the narrow chilling mountainous gorges. The amazing land of Mongolia has everything to offer. After breakfast we will be driving to Yolyn Am Gorge (Valley of Vultures) in the mountainous region of Gurvan Saikhan Mountains.It's a beautiful 5-6 hours journey from the sandy dunes to the rocky mountains and narrow gorges. On the way explore wild ass and herd of gazelles in Khavtsgait valley. Enjoy small hikes in the narrow gorges and photograph spectacular high cliff walls, wild animals such as eagle and wild sheep. At the opening of the valley is a Local Natural History Museum displaying interesting information about the animals of the area and a visit to it would be a good idea to know more about the local culture and history. Overnight in Ger camp.

Day 6 - Ulaanbaatar City - Wild Horses National Park


Today after having breakfast we will be flying back to Ulaanbaatar. SPend some time in the city and after having lunch we will be driving to Khustain Nuruu National Park, where herds of wild horse Przevalskii are re-acclimatizing since 1991. Explore wild horses (takhi) which is one of the integral part of Mongolian culture and history. Visit natural museum displaying about wild horses and the national park area including flora and fauna. Overnight stay in Ger Camp.

Day 7 - Mongol Els Sand Dunes 


It's another desert day. It will take us almost 5 hours to reach the vast 70 kms stretch of sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai, popularly known as Mongol Els Drive. After having lunch over there visit a horse breeder's family to explore the nomadic lifestyle and interact with nomads about their life and tradition. There is nice chance to try Mongolian national drink Airag, fermented mare's milk, and also other milk products. Experience daily activities of local people. Put your riding skills on test in an 1 hour horseback riding. In the evening after dinner, take a nice stroll along the cold dunes through the bushes and shrubs and under the starry blanket. It will be a walk to remember. Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 8 - Khara Khorum - Capital City of Mongolian Great Empire – Ogii Lake 


From the lives of nomadic herders, to the pompousness and might of the Mongolian kingdom, today we are going to slide through the centuries of Mongolian history and heritage. Have your breakfast and be ready to drive to Khara Khorin town, where developed Khara Khorum capital of Great Mongolian Empire in 13th century. This UNESCO heritage place is located in the majestic Orkhon valley which have seen the transformations and evolutions of Steppe pastoralism to the heights of imperal power and throne of the Steppes. Today you will nbe taken back to the pages of history. After having lunch, explore Erdene Zuu Monastery Museum - First Biggest Buddhist Center in medieval ages. Explore Turtle rock on the south hill. Drive to Khoshoo Tsaidam Monument on the bank of Orkhon river to explore Turkish Rock Inscription-Monuments dating back to 7th - 9th centuries. It describes about Kultigen King of Turkish tribe and battles. We will call our day off by at the Ogii clear water lake. Overnight stay in Ger camp.

Day 9 - Ulaanbaatar City 


Wake up for an early breakfast, as we would be having a long drive of 8-9 hours today to reach back to Ulaanbaatar city. We will be having open air box lunch on the way while enjoying the scenery. On reaching at Ulaanbaatar, spend rest of the day in leisure. Overnight stay in hotel at Ulaanbaatar.

Day 10 - Ulaanbaatar City Tour


Today we will be enjoying the highlights of the Ulaanbaatar city. The city tour will include visits to Gandantegchilen Monastery - present biggest monastery, which houses for giant standing Buddha statue; National History Museum gives you real insight into Mongolian origin and history. After lunch we will be visiting the Natural History Museum which offers nice chance to see petrified dinosaur skeletons and nestled eggs. Visit main Square Sukhbaatar, Friendship Monument on Zaisan hill. Free time for shopping the main street shops, art shops and antique shops. Enjoy National Folklore Performance Concert with songs and contortion acts. Overnight stay in hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 11 - Departure

The Mongolian jaunt has finally come to an end. After breakfast, our chauffeur will drop you at the airport and bid you a warm adieu for your journey back to sweet home.
