Itinerary

Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar City

Our team will welcome you as you arrive in Ulaanbaatar city. The chauffeur will transfer you to the your hotel. Enjoy the sight of the historic city of Ulaanbaatar as you drive through the city. Spend rest of the day in leisure and absorb the serenity of the Steppe. Overnight stay in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2 - Ulaanbaatar - Bayan - Olgii Province

In the morning, after breakfast, check out hotel and catch flight to Bayan Olgii. We will have our local chauffeur ready to greet you and we will be driving out of the town towards the Tavan Bogd National Park. Enjoy the beauty of the western Mongolia. Today, we’ll reach to the Khoton Lake, stopping for lunch on the way in Biluut Hill. We will be also halting along the way for ancient rock carvings of Turkic Empire 1500 – 2000 years. After a tryst with the past of Mongolia, we will be reaching the camping location in Olgii Province from where we will begin trekking tomorrow. Overnight at tent.

Day 3 - Trekking to Khoton Khurgan Lake

Wake up to the freshness of the morning air, smell green grass and have your first breakfast amidst the wilderness. We’ll start trekking today along to Khoton Hurgan Lake to Tavan Bogd National Park. Khoton & Hurgan lakes are one of the largest pure lakes in Mongolia, 26m deep in average, has one island which is covered by woods and these two lakes are connected with wide channel. It's an awestruck moment to experience the view of the snow-capped mountains adorning the lakes all around. Take a breath and simply experience. Today we’ll have vehicle support at sections to reach the locations. Overnight camping in tent.

Days 4 - 6 - Trekking in the Tavan Bogd National Park

From Day 4 to 6, we will be trekking inside the Tavan Bogd National Park which will expose you to the serene, wild and authentic Mongolia. We trek up to the Tsagaan gol river valley; will visit to Kazak nomad family who are the biggest ethnic group in Mongolia. Experience their lifestyle and interact with them. Following days, we’ll trek to the Mt. Shiveet crossing the highest pass of the region. We’ll be also visiting Tuvan families – one of the ethnic groups who practices Shamanism. These three days will be a surreal experience of traversing through dimensions of natural beauty, mysticism and ethnicity. Overnight accommodation in camp tents and the location depends on the trekking capacity of the trekkers.

Day 7 - Arrive in Base Camp

We’ll trek for 18 km to the Tavan Bogd base camp. There, we’ll load luggage to the camels. On the way, Potanin & Alexander glacier will be seen in the distance of 5 – 6 km. After a long and beautiful trek we will be reaching the base camp which is at 3000 masl. Overnight stay in camp tent in the base camp.

Day 8 - Glacier Exploration Day

Today, we’ll explore the Potanin & Alexander glacier which is named after Russian explorer Gregory Potanin and ~14 km long and the longest one in Mongolia. Its basin is covered with moraine and water from the melting ice flows into the Khovd river basin. The trekking on the glacier will be a thrilling experience as our expert trekkers guide you safely from the dangerous crevasses. Overnight stay at the base camp tent.

Day 9 - Climbing to Mt. Malchin Peak of Five Holy Peak

Wake up early and brace yourself up for a thrilling adventure. Today we will be embarking in a quest to conquer Malchin Peak (4050m). The picturesque trek will take almost 6-7 hours but it's absolutely worth it. This peak provides a long climb, mostly on screen and requiring no technical equipment, yet affords tremendous views over Russia to the north and across to the glaciated peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd to the south. Most part of the path to the top is rocky and you have to pay little attention to the guides' instructions when you climb or trek to the top. Trek down and overnight stay at the base camp tent.

Day 10 - Base Camp - Oigor River - Olgii

Today, we’ll head back to Olgii town. We will be trekking down to the Oigor river through the wilderness and amidst the calls of the wild. Overnight stay at tent in the wilderness.

Day 11 - Drive back to Olgii

In the morning, we will meet our chauffeur at Oigor River Camp and will drive back to Olgii town. On the way stop over to pat a visit to Eagle hunter family. After arriving at Olgii, we will check-in to the hotel and after getting refreshed will head for 2 hours of city sightseeing tour including black market, local museum and mosque. Overnight at hotel in Olgii.

Day 12 - Olgii to Ulaanbaatar

In the morning or in the afternoon, we catch flight back to Ulaanbaatar. After ~3 hours of flight, we’ll land at Chinggis Khaan Airport and will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 13 - City tour of Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we visit Museum of National History, which has a number of fascinating displays of traditional Mongolian clothing and weaponry, as well as exhibits charting the course of Genghis Khan's empire. Later we will also visit Genghis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square. After lunch, we visit Bogd Khaan’s Palace Museum – the residence of the last king of Mongolia and the Buddha Park. Enjoy traditional folklore concert by the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. Enjoy the special farewell dinner as a token of love from us. Overnight stay at hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 14 - Departure

After a remarkable and enjoyable tour with you it's time to say goodbye. You are transferred to the airport/train station after breakfast. Hoping to see you soon.
