How invigorating will a journey be as one plies through one of the barren lands of India, ornamented with architectural grandeurs of historical strongholds and lavish palaces that speak of the magnum opus of the royal history of Rajasthan in the most authentic way? Behind these massive fortifications, lies the golden chapter of ancient times narrates about the extravagant living, valor and bloodthirsty battles of the royal past. The bygone royals have left such a huge cluster of architectural brilliance so unique and awe-inspiring.
Rajasthan welcomes to embark on a journey through its undulating sand dunes and in the process, to get soaked into the bygone glory and valor of the royal history that still continues the shape and destiny of the landscape.
Our journey starts with the greetings of our Chauffeur at Jaipur airport and then driving us to the hotel. Commonly known as the Pink City of India, Jaipur holds some legendary sites to explore like - the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the City Palace Museum and the astronomical brilliance of the Jantar Mantar Observatory which we will cover by afternoon. As evening sets in, we will visit Chokhi Dhani Village to experience a traditional Rajasthani dinner with music and then, will end the day by returning to the hotel followed by night stay at Jaipur.
After having an early first breakfast, we will visit Amber Fort where we can have an elephant ride to experience the royal trend of earlier ages. Then, we will start moving towards Churu, the Gateway to the Thar Desert. We will have lunch en-route and shall be checking into the hotel by afternoon. After freshening up, we will visit few notable Havelis like - Kanhai Lal Bagla ki Haveli and the Surana Haveli among others. As the sun will start setting in we will return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Churu.
We need to travel for 5 hours to reach today’s destination, Khimsar, a small village established by the scion of the house of Jodhpur. Early breakfast is needed to save time. As we check into the hotel in Khimsar we will freshen up to proceed for the jeep safari through the legendary Thar Desert. We may try for a traditional lunch at the beautifully curated Khimar Dunes Village. The blissful sunset on the unending stretches of sand to witness will be forever memorable. Later in the evening, we will return for a leisurely dinner followed by night stay at Khimsar.
Today is the time for a bit of break away. After breakfast, we’ll go for a thrilling Black Buck Safari at The Panchala Black Buck reserve which is home to three species of antelope, the Blackbuck, Chinkara and Blue Bull. Next, we will be on our way to Nimaj, in the Pali district of Rajasthan. We will certainly have options to try some local food on the way, for lunch. By the time we check into Nimaj, the evening will set in. We will have a plateful of delicious dinner followed by night stay at Nimaj.
The day is scheduled for a village tour to get accustomed to the cultural rituals of the natives. The villages formed out of the different historic sects give a hint into the erstwhile cultural layout. As we roam around the hamlets of Bishoi, Seervi, and the Kumawat settlements, we will get closer to the knowledge of the people and their intriguing way of living. After having a local lunch at the villages, we’ll be on your way to the Chhatra Sagar Dam for a romantic cruising experience. The sunset here is something that should not be missed for any excuse; such is the exclusivity in its beauty lies. We will return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and night stay at Nimaj.
A local village breakfast will be on the menu today. After checking out, we’ll be on our way to Jodhpur, the 2nd largest city of Rajasthan. The blue city offers some of the biggest forts to witness like the famous Mehrangarh Fort. It also houses one of the well-stocked museums in Rajasthan. Street foods can be an excellent option to have today’s lunch with. A quite siesta can recharge us up to enjoy the evenings, strolling through the city and its lanes followed by dinner and night stay at the hotel in Jodhpur.
We will be leaving city today for another stint at the villages of Rajasthan. As we finish our breakfast and check out, we will visit Ranakpur, a village in the Pali district. After checking in the hotel and having some lunch, the first destination will be the Kumbhalgarh fort, the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the legendary ruler of Mewar. Built by Rana Kumbha, is another famous piece of architecture in this region is the Ranakpur Jain Temple. After a day’s trip on Forts and temples, we will return to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Ranakpur.
We will be driving for 200 KM today to reach our destination, Dungarpur via Udaipur. The city of lakes will serve as a perfect oasis on our journey through the desert land. Once we reach Dungarpur, we will check into the hotel and have our dinner for the night stay at Dungarpur.
It will be a long journey to witness the architectural wonders of Rajasthan. After breakfast, we will visit the Juna Mahal. Next in line will be the Gaib Sagar Lake, a famous shrine of Shrinathji ornamenting the center of it. We will visit the banks of the River Som to witness a grand temple of Shiva, the Deo Somnath temple. The old Inscriptions that are made on the walls of the temple can be traced back to 1493. As we return to our hotel in the evening, we will gorge on some sumptuous dinner and stay for a night in Dungarpur.
We will embark on a four-hour long journey to Chittorgarh after an early breakfast. After checking into the hotel, it will be time to stand in awe in front of the magnificent architectural grandeur that served as the capital of the legendary state of Mewar from the 7th century to the 16th century AD. The evenings can be spent in leisure back at our hotel, indulging in a sumptuous dinner of classical Rajasthani dishes and night stay at Chittorgarh.
We’ll have a head start to the day with a locally cooked breakfast and a subsequent journey to the historical town of Bundi, dominated by a fantastic palace of faded parchment cupolas and loggias rising from the hillside above the town. After reaching our hotel, we will freshen up to start after a while for Jait Sagar. Round the far side of the Taragarh Hill, this picturesque 1.5 km lake flanked by hills of the Aravalli Range. Next on the cards is Sukh Mahal, a magnificent summer palace built on the Jait Sagar Lake. A casual walk through the Old city can take us back to time travel. Later in the evening, we will return to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Bundi.
Today we will be on a trip to explore the flora and fauna of this part of India. We will visit Ranthambore National Park, in the city of Sawai Madhopur, also known for The Fort of Ranthambore. After checking into the hotel, we will proceed for a Jeep safari. The evening will be treated with leisure; dinner and night stay at Sawai Madhopur.
We will be going for an early morning Safari in Ranthambore and return to the hotel for breakfast. Then, we will proceed towards Tehla village in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. On our arrival and rest, we will set out for the walking trail in the village to explore the natives and their culture and way of life from the closest quarters as possible. A traditional village lunch can be a perfect awe-inspiring on to the experience. Later, as darkness sets in, we will return to our hotel for another traditional dinner to give a fitting end to the day followed by night stay at Tehla.
After an early breakfast, we will proceed towards Jaipur for the return journey.
