The Kumaon belt changes its hue throughout the year, owing to its rich colour palette of pink and blue hydrangea in the winters and blood red rhododendron in the pleasant summers. As we get drench in the beauty of the sun-kissed valleys during dawn, the hustle and bustle of the monotonous city life will fade away for some moments and shall create an abode of peace and tranquility.
Our chauffeur will pick us up from Kathgodam and embark on the journey to Almora, the cultural capital of Uttarakhand. En route the 3 hr drive, we shall have our lunch before entering the Cantonment town, tucked in at an elevation of 1638 mt. After checking into your hotel and some rest we will out for local sightseeing. Being rich in cultural heritage, this land is dotted with several ancient temples, each resulting in several doctrines of wisdom. As the dusk sets in, we will witness the first sunset in such a salubrious weather. The evenings are the best time for shopping at Lal Bazar, which depicts the aptness of Almora’s title as the business hub of Kumaon. After having a sumptuous dinner at a local restaurant, we will return to the hotel for the night stay at Almora.
Today’s destination is the Katarmal Sun temple, a magnificent architecture of the 9th century. Perched at an elevation of 2,116 mt, it is the second most important sun temple of the country, after the Konark temple in Orissa. We will have local lunch before continuing our journey to the Deer Park, surrounded by lush stretches of alpine forests, rich in diverse flora and fauna. In the evening, the Lalbazar will lure to get hold of an angora woolen garment, made from the fur of Angora rabbits. The Lal bazar hosts a lot of local restaurants which shall provide lovely dinner items. As the crowd thins with time, we will return back to the resort for the night stay at Almora.
Perched at an elevation of 2420 mt in the Kumaon District, Binsar will be our next destination. As soon as we finish our breakfast we’ll be on your way to Binsar that provides a view of the Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Panchachuli and Kedarnath mountains, too mesmerizing to be real. We will check into the hotel and have our lunch with some rest. In the afternoon, we will visit the local places of interest like the Bineshwar Temple, Zero Point inside the Binsar National Park and the Golu Devata temple among others. The evening will be at leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Binsar.
Welcome the new day with a cup of hot beverage and while witnessing the magical sunrise at the Kumaon range. After breakfast, we will be heading towards Bageshwar. Surrounded by the mountains of Bhuleshwar, Nileshwar, Surajkund, and Agnikund on its four sides, this little gem of a place holds massive religious and cultural influences. Located at the confluence of the Saryu and Gomti rivers at 1004 mt, this town hosts a lot of ancient temples. We will have lunch en-route and shall reach Bageshwar late noon. With the completion of the temple excursion, we will head on to Ranikhet for night stay.
Today we will explore Ranikhet by visiting the nearby sites - Haidakhan Temple, the Jhula Devi temple and the Mankameshwar temple among others. We shall also try your hand in Golf at the 2nd largest 9-hole golf course in India, here in Ranikhet. Late in the evening, we will spend some time at leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Ranikhet.
The whole day will be dedicated for exploring the nearby areas of Ranikhet. We will be up for a trip to the town of Dwarahat, noted for its historical and archaeological importance. The small town Kalika noted for the Kalika Temple shall be another point of interest and in the afternoon, we will cover Sheetalkhet, the abode of native flowers. As the sun disappears behind the Kumaon, the different hues in the sky will guide us back to the resort and we will indulge in some leisurely activities followed by dinner and night stay at Ranikhet.
Ranikhet will bid goodbye with a stunning sunrise over the valley. We’ll be starting for Kausani, after breakfast. Also known as the Switzerland of India, Kausani is widely renowned for its 300 km wide panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli. It hosts sites like Anashakti Ashram, Sumitranandan Art Gallery and the Kausani Tea Estate which we will visit after completing the check-in formalities and lunch. The rest of the day shall be spent on leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Kausani.
The majestic sunrise over the extended Kumaon range sets the tone early in the morning. And our, traveling spirit will be full of eagerness to visit Kot Bhramari temple, Kausani Tea Estate, and the Sumitranandan Art Gallery after breakfast. By spending the whole day in exploring Kausani, the evening will in for leisure activities, dinner and night stay at Kausani.
After an early breakfast, we will be returning to Kathgodam railway station/ airport with all sun-kissed lovely memories for the journey home.
