Rajasthan, literally translated as the Land of Kings, welcomes with an open-air Museum, with the royal relics best preserved. Folklore of heroism and romance reverberate from the formidable monuments that stand tall till date to narrate the tale of the bygone era. The landscape depicts the popular ideal of Romantic India, boasting of an amalgamation of Royal Palaces, camel treks and biodiverse flora and fauna unlike anywhere in the subcontinent.
As we get lost in the yesteryears of glory and sacrifices, scripted in the backdrop of the ever-shifting sand dunes of the Thar Desert, we might be bewitched to get a feel of being on a course of a time travel; an experience making Rajasthan a destination unparallel to any place in the world.
Our journey starts with Jaipur Airport where our Chauffeur who will greet and drive us to the hotel. After freshening up, we will start exploring the pink city followed by an enjoyable lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon will be reserved for visiting the legendary Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the City Palace Museum and the Jantar Mantar Observatory. As evening sets in, we will visit the marketplace to know about the local products. The market also hosts a number of restaurants, any of which can serve as a place for tonight’s dinner. By the end of the meal, we will return to the hotel for the night stay at Jaipur.
The new day starts with the breakfast before we set out for a journey of 170 KM to Mandawa, a town in the Jhunjhuna district of Rajasthan. After checking into our pre-booked hotel, we will have our lunch and some rest. Our next spot of exploration is the region owned by Shekhawat Rajputs. While taking a tour of the few Havelis like the Murmuria Haveli, Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli, and Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, anyone will be astounded by the wealth of the people of the region other than those belonging to the Royal bloodline. We will be experiencing the camel ride into the undulating sand dunes to witness a majestic sunset in the desert. In the evening, we will return to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Mandawa.
This day is reserved for a visit to the holy city of Pushkar but the early morning after breakfast can be utilized for a trip to the Mandawa Fort, an important heritage site for the Shekhawati Rajputs. We will have our lunch en-route before checking into Pushkar. The afternoon will be reserved for some notable spots in Pushkar to match with the spirit of its richness. As dusk sets in, we will be returning to the hotel for leisure, dinner and night stay at Pushkar.
Today’s destination is Deogarh, also known as Devgarh, situated in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. After breakfast at the hotel in Pushkar, we will set out for a 4-hour journey to the city which was once an estate of the Chundawat Rajputs. After checking in, we will have lunch to proceed with the notable attraction i.e. Deogarh Mahal. The place is also renowned for a school of Miniature painting which is still in practice and this art form is very popular in Rajasthan and other parts of India. On the fort walls, frescoes art form can be seen. As we return to the hotel in the evening, we will call the day off with a leisurely dinner followed by night stay at Deogarh.
We will set for a journey to the most romantic place of India, Udaipur, and the former capital of the Mewar Kingdom, set around a set of artificial lakes and known for its lavish royal residences. As we complete our breakfast back in the hotel of Deogarh, we’ll set for our scheduled journey, halting midway to bask in the magnificence of the Kumbhalgarh Fort. En route we shall have lunch before checking into Udaipur and then will keep time to relax for some time. In the afternoon, we shall have a boating experience at Lake Pichola along with an enjoyable view of the sunset. Late evening, we will return to the hotel for dinner and night stay at Udaipur.
The day starts with a sumptuous breakfast before we embark on a journey for the local sightseeing. The City Palace is on the wish list. Overlooking the lake Pichola, the City Palace is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics. We will also visit Jagdish Temple that enshrines black stone carving of Lord Shiva and his mighty carrier Garuda. The evening will be spent on leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Udaipur.
We will embark on a 4-hour long journey today to Chittorgarh as soon as we finish our breakfast. The Chittorgarh Fort that rises from the plains like a huge rock island, nearly 6 km long and surrounded on all sides by walls as high as 150 meters. After we check into our hotel, it will be time to stand in awe in front of the vast architectural grandeur that served as the capital of the legendary State of Mewar from the 7th century to the 16th century AD. Late in the afternoon, we’ll be reaching Bassi, a small village in the Jaipur district of Rajasthan. We can have a walk through the ancient village to soak into the local culture of the place. The quiet evening shall be spent on leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Bassi.
Known for its sculptures and woodcrafts, the village of Bassi hold a lot of nearby places, eligible for sightseeing. After a local breakfast, we can visit the famous Bassi Fort that glorifies the history of the Chundawat clan. The nearby Bassi Dam and the Orai Dam can be a nice place for angling, bird watching, and boating. En-route we will have lunch and then proceed towards Bassi Wildlife sanctuary. In the evening, we can embark on an exploratory walk through the village to watch the local craftsman. As the village gets engulfed in darkness, we will enjoy some local cuisine for dinner followed by night stay at Bassi.
We’ll have a head start to the day with a locally cooked breakfast and a subsequent journey to the historical town of Bundi, dominated by a fantastic palace of faded parchment cupolas and loggias rising from the hillside above the town. After checking into the hotel we will be visiting Jait Sagar after resting for a while. Round the far side of the Taragarh Hill, this picturesque 1.5 km lake is flanked by hills of the Aravalli Range. Next on the cards is Sukh Mahal, a magnificent summer palace built on the Jait Sagar Lake. The afternoon will be allotted to some leisurely activities followed by settling down in the hotel for dinner and night stat at Bundi.
Today we will be on a trip to explore the flora and fauna of this part of India at the Ranthambore National Park situated near Sawai Madhopur. Ranthambore is also noted for the ancient Ranthambore Fort. After checking into our hotel, we will be experiencing the Jeep Safari at Ranthambore in the afternoon. In the evening, we will return to the hotel for a leisurely dinner and night stay at Sawai midway.
Today after an early breakfast we will start for Jaipur. Enroute, we will halt at Amber Shekhawati, about 11km from Jaipur and can experience an elephant ride. We will have lunch after checking into the hotel at Jaipur. In the evening, we will visit Choki Dhani Village for dinner and music performance followed by getting back to the hotel for last night stay biodiverse Jaipur.
Breakfast will be served in the morning after which our chauffeur will take you to the Airport and will wish you luck for your homeward journey.
