The history of Bengal is filled with chapters on revolts, attacks, and riots at around the periods of pre and post independence. The 18th C. Bengal has witnessed few significant attacks. One such instance to relate with is the Bargi attack in Bengal. The context of Bargi attack came into existence with the Garh Panchkot trip is due to the Panchkot Palace that has a lasting impression till today among the enthusiasts of Bengal. The ruins of Garh Panchkot, the mighty Jaychandi, the innocent Baranti Village and the echoic Ayodha are the cruxes of experience for this historically significant weekend village two night trip to Garh Panchkot.
Situated at a distance of 250 KM from Kolkata, it will take a good 5 hours to reach Garh Panchkot from the city of joy. However, we can also enjoy the train journey to Adra Station for which we will be dropped at Kolkata station as early by 7:30 a.m. in the morning to catch the 7:45 Aranyak Express for reaching Adra Station by 12:30 noon. On our arrival, we will be driven to our resort in Panchet where we will check in, freshen up and have lunch. After a balmy rest, we shall visit the Panchet dam to witness the sunset or a full moon evening. Later we will return to the resort for dinner and night stay at Garh Panchkot.
After an early breakfast, we will be heading onto visit the historic ruins of Panchkot Palace, Jaichandi Pahar, Baranti Village, Panchet Hills, and Forest. En-route we will have lunch and keep some more time in hand to explore the Ayodhya Hills till evening. The day will end with our return to the resort for leisure, or we can engage in witnessing some cultural performances by the locally popular tribal / folk artists followed by dinner and night stay at Garh Panchkot.
According to our schedule, we will be dropped at Adra Station for the return journey to Kolkata. On our arrival to Kolkata, our pre-booked chauffeur will drive us to the hotel in Kolkata and there will the trip end.
