A warm welcome to a trip back to your crooked hut. Strangely but surely our chauffeur knows the way down to that place where your drawing book comes to life. An enjoyable drive from NJP/ Bagdogra through the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, driving along the Teesta and beyond 'the black spurs' of Kalimpong to a quaint hamlet now known as Kafley Gaon. Do you find some similarity? The Oak still stands next to your dream hut. As you start settling in, look around and try to find your own canvas in Palighar. Overnight stay in Palighar.
Did you hear the murmuring of your granny's bed-time stories in your warm bed last night? Probably we all did! Let's push off from our beds and catch butterflies. A belly full of hot piping authentic Nepali breakfast and the walking shoes is right on. Step out and explore the hidden villages that once you used to draw and paint. A short trail through the lush green cover adorned with rhododendrons and wildflowers, as your feet keep on tapping and marching on the idyllic tunes of turtle doves, bulbul, and the unknown ensemble. Our walk will take you through the uncharted villages like Gairigaon, Harrabhotey and many more. Come back refreshed to your sweet sojourn. Enjoy your lunch and take your time to be yourself. Disconnected from the familiar world you know; the warmth of the canvas of Kafley Gaon has already made you feel family by now. You may just lay back at your nest and extend your helping hand to make and learn the local food, or do a little farming and cattle keeping. Feel at home, feel yourself, feel life. In case you have your exploration spirit and compass ready, we may also go to explore more places around the village and can hike up to Kalimpong. In the evening, enjoy a barbecue and sit around the bonfire to warm and kindle the raw and organic memories of the trip. Overnight stay at Palighar.
More and more paintings to draw and explore. But for the time being, we see off the second page of that sketchbook in the quest of searching the scribbles on the third page together. Our chauffeur will drop you at NJP/Bagdogra for your journey back home.
