It’s a sleepy enchantress. Be it the Medusa’s hair like mangroves or the labyrinth of water channels or the lull in the air… it’s simply an enchantress. It’s a beauty which will stick an awe and send a chill down your spine. You will be navigating a maze of interconnected waterways through a section of the worlds mangrove forest in the world. It’s bleak and haunting, shrouded by mysteries and folklores of terrifying man-eaters. Hold your breath and calm, and you may spot full grown Royal Bengal Tigers just like you see the familiar crow on your neighbor’s roof. For the brave hearts, explore the trails of honey-collectors or listen to the engrossing stories of bravery and thrill. This is as wild and ruthless as nature can be, and as enchanting as you may imagine.
We will be greeted at the meeting point in the City of Joy Kolkata and our chauffeur will straightaway drive us to Godkhali. An ideal road trip is incomplete without having food during the journey. So, breakfast will be served during the journey. Once we reach Godkhali, we will experience our first riverine cruising through the mangroves and shall stop by Hamilton Bungalow, Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow, Anukul Thakur Ashram, Gosaba Bazar. We will be checking into the resort for lunch and some rest to sustain spirits for the evening excursion in the Mangrove vegetation and sunset point. As darkness sets in, we will return to our resort for leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Pakhiralay, Sunderban. Note: A local performance on dance or drama can be arranged in the evening on the basis of additional charges.
After a sumptuous breakfast, we will be heading towards Jharkhali. The watchtower view in Jharkhali shall provide ample opportunities to witness the famous Sunderban Royal Bengal Tigers. This place is noted for maximum tiger footfall and is one of the core areas in this delta. Spending a quality time on adventure our next destination will be the nearby Tiger & Crocodile Project. Our half day fruitfulness shall be finely contributed by the on boat lunch experience while river cruising. We will reach Butterfly Garden and Flower Garden to learn about the conscience of these native dwellers how they manage in procuring such natural treasures. And, before returning to the resort we will visit the Nabam Mukhi (the confluence of nine rivers) all through the mangrove plantation. The rest of the day will be spent on leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Pakhiralay.
Today we will start early to explore Burirdarbri after breakfast. The water trail will be taking us to the nooks and corners of the deeper Sunderbans, a place of uncanny mysticism. Later, we will be back to the resort for lunch and move towards Dobanki, Sajnekhali (watchtower) and Sudanyakhali. After sunset, we will return to the resort for leisure followed by dinner and night stay at Pakhiralay.
A visit to the Mangrove plantation and a local village tour after breakfast shall be conducted. Then we will have lunch and will proceed toward Kolkata for the return journey.
